Lauri J. Goldstein Participates in DARE Program

By A Law Firm of Schmitt, Cambron & Reynolds, P.L. June 01, 2012

Lauri J. Goldstein, practicing personal injury attorney in Florida, has made it her mission to dedicate both her professional and personal life to the wellbeing of others. In her legal practice, she works tirelessly to defend the rights of wrongfully injured individuals, and in her personal life, she takes the time to actively participate in her community. On March 8, 2012, Goldstein proudly participated in the graduation of the fifth grade students at Jensen Beach Elementary School from the D.A.R.E. program.

The D.A.R.E. program (The Drug and Alcohol Resistance Education program) is designed to educate students on the negative effects of drug and alcohol abuse, and is implemented in schools nationwide. In Martin County alone, 10 public schools incorporate an 11-week course into the curriculum, and about 1,500 students graduate from the program every year. To graduate from the program, the students must write an essay about what they have learned throughout the course of the D.A.R.E. program, and explain why they think drug and alcohol abuse is harmful.

Lauri J. Goldstein has become very active in this program, explaining, "I believe in the youth of this country. I have two young children myself and I am familiar with the realities of what happens in schools." This attitude is what drives her to take an active role in the education of students in her community on the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse, and she believes that "The D.A.R.E. program provides important education that students can use as they encounter negative peer pressure."

For the past two years, Goldstein has personally taken on the expense of the shirts that the children receive through the D.A.R.E. program at Jensen Beach Elementary, Hobe Sound, Port Salerno, Pinewood, and Seawind. The students personally wrote letters of appreciation to Goldstein for her generosity and participation and presented them during the graduation ceremony on March 8th. Her caring attitude is felt throughout her entire community, both through her work as a personal injury attorney and through her work as a volunteer.
