Hit and Run Accident Kills Young Parents and Unborn Baby

A Brooklyn couple was tragically killed this last Sunday while on their way to the hospital. 21 year old newlywed couple was driving to the hospital because the e7 month pregnant wife was experiencing pains. Sadly, they were unable to make it even to the hospital as their taxi was crashed into by an oncoming driver in a BMW. This accident resulted in the engine being shoved into the back seat of the car on impact. The husband was pinned inside the vehicle and the emergency responders were required to take the roof of the car off in order to retrieve his body, he died later at a nearby hospital.

The wife was ejected from the car and thrown under a parked vehicle; she too died of blunt force trauma later at the hospital. The emergency response team immediately took her to the hospital in order to attempt to save the unborn baby by way of preforming a cesarean section. The babies delivery was successful and he was born weighing 4 pounds, though he was sadly pronounced dead Monday morning; just the next day.

What shocks the people of the Orthodox Jewish community in New York is that after their beloved Nachman and Raizy Glauber were hit by the oncoming car, the BMW did not stop and it proceeded to drive away from the scene of the accident, not even bothering to check on the victims. At this time police have been able to identify the man responsible for the accident that lead to the death of three people on Sunday morning. Julio Acevedo, 44, is wanted for the accident that resulted in the tragic deaths of the victims. Police reports share that he allegedly borrowed the BMW from someone when the accident occurred,.

This is not Acevedo's first encounter with the law however. Just last month it is said that he was convicted for driving under the influence of alcohol, and in recent years there are many other criminal charges that involved violence. In 1987 he was convicted for murder and spent 10 years behind bars in the 90's to pay for those crimes. Police reports also share new information regarding Mr. Acevedo's actions claiming that he contacted a friend he knew from his time in prison that he had dull intentions of coming forward and turning himself in for his actions that led to the death of the family.

He also shared that he was scared to have to go back to jail, likely for life this time if he was convicted for his actions. Acevedo claims that what led him to speeding in the BMW was because someone was shooting at him, and he had to escape. However, after sharing that he planned to come forward, the police have yet see the suspect come forward, though he is continually showing his intention is to do just that. According to the police, he as reported to be traveling an estimated 60 miles per hour down a street with half the speed limit, the taxi is said to have been making a turn when the suspect crashed into their vehicle.

In the event that you have lost a loved one as a result of car accident, do not wait another moment before taking legal action and contacting a car accident attorney who can help you file a wrongful death lawsuit. While nothing can ever bring back your lost loved ones, monetary compensation can help make the recovery process even just a bit easier as you can focus on family rather than the expensive funeral costs and the like.
