Celebrity Injured in Serious Car Accident

According to Fox News, the famed comedian Tracy Morgan was seriously injured in a car accident that involves six vehicles this past weekend. At least one person in the car collision passed away. Morgan is listed in critical condition at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The accident occurred on the New Jersey Turnpike early Saturday morning.

The Saturday Night Live favorite is allegedly wearing a neck brace, but sources say that he is still "smiling." Morgan was in a limo bus with six other passengers at approximately 1:00 a.m. after performing a standup routine when the vehicle overturned. One of the passengers inside the bus died, and two others in addition to Morgan were critically injured. A fifth passenger was treated and released and two others in the limousine were unhurt, including the driver.

A truck driver from Georgia was charged with death by auto in connection to the crash. The individual faces four counts of assault by auto from the crash, and is jail with his bail set at $50,000. Reports show that the man driving the massive tractor trailer failed to notice that traffic slowed ahead and swerved to avoid a crash when he didn't brake on time. He smashed into the back of the limousine, prompting a chain reaction in the thick traffic. The other cars involved in the crash include a second tractor-trailer, an SUV and two cars.

The National Transportation Safety Board said that it was working with state police to look into issues with the crash that were related to commercial trucking and limousine safety. The truck that caused the accident was owned by WalMart, and the company has already offered to take full responsibility if it is confirmed that the truck caused the accident.
